Caught in a second
2020
Robin Gibson Gallery
Caught in a second, seeks to draw attention to the inconsequential moments that cause us to pause, if only for a second in our day. Feelings and sensations of joy, appreciation, reflection and anticipation that remind us of hope. Incidental, these moments are often not short lived, giving us a little nudge of hope in what can feel like a heavy world. The works were created shortly after the much-anticipated rains fell following the recent bushfires. A sense of relief was almost palpable after what was a devastating and onerous time. The colours of the landscape began transforming, from what were once dry, dull tones became fresh and bright again.
