Nest, was commissioned by Mosman Art Gallery to acknowledge the significant contribution of two long time volunteers, the late Stanley and Diane Wachman. Located on the Vista St approach to gallery, Nest uses thread-like steel, evoking Diane's strong connection with, and affinity to, woven materials. These threads crossing, joining and detaching symbolise the intricacies of relationships. As the threads climb and move upwards they appear to break away towards the sky and space beyond. The sculpture is attached to the ground, the fabric of the building and the idea of beyond.
